Frequently Asked Questions – Patients

1. How can I get an appointment with CRC Québec?

Go to the “Apply Now” tab, then complete and submit the application form.
A member of our team will contact you within 24 business hours to discuss your request and explain the steps required to obtain the necessary medical records and determine your eligibility for medical cannabis.

2. What are the next steps?

Once your medical records are received, they will be reviewed by our team. This process may take up to 24 business hours.
A staff member will then contact you by phone. If your records are considered complete and satisfactory, a brief telephone interview (5 to 7 minutes) will be conducted.

Your records, along with the information collected, will be forwarded to an affiliated physician for evaluation. The physician will determine whether you are eligible for an appointment. Appointments are granted only to patients whose records demonstrate a valid medical indication. Requests are processed in the order received.

3. Do I need a medical referral?

A referral from a physician may be helpful, but it is not required.

4. Are medical cannabis expenses tax-deductible?

In many cases, purchases made from a licensed producer may be eligible as medical expenses for tax purposes. We recommend verifying with your tax advisor.

5. Does a consultation at CRC Québec automatically guarantee RACFM authorization?

No. In some cases, additional written support from a specialist may be required.
After reviewing your file, our team will contact you to inform you of the next steps.

6. Is there a minimum or maximum age to consult?

CRC Québec offers its services to individuals aged 18 and over only.
Please contact us for more information.

7. Does RACFM authorization have an expiration date?

Yes. Authorizations may be valid for a maximum period of one (1) year from the date of issuance.
CRC Québec will contact you approximately 2 to 3 weeks before expiration to schedule your renewal.

8. How is the cannabis dosage determined?

The dosage is determined by the physician during your consultation, after discussion with you.
Each case is evaluated individually. Even if you meet Health Canada criteria, the physician retains the right to exercise clinical judgment and may decide not to authorize the request.

9. What quantity will be prescribed?

The authorized quantity depends on your medical situation and will be specified on your RACFM medical document.
The physician will determine the most appropriate dosage for your treatment during the consultation.

10. How can I modify my current authorization?

Our team can assist you in making changes to your RACFM authorization (e.g., dosage adjustment or name change) with no administrative fees.
Depending on the requested modification, an appointment may be required.
Please contact CRC Québec for any change requests.

11. How long will it take before I can order from a licensed producer?

CRC Québec collaborates with several licensed producers. Some can complete verification within 24 hours, while others typically take between 3 and 10 business days.

If you have a preference for a producer offering faster verification, please inform our team when you contact us.
